Here comes the peculiarity.I can get the preview with audio with Sonic MyDVD Plus 6, Media Center and two of the tools provided with Microsoft Media Center Diagnostic Tool 2.5, the Encoder API WHQL Test and the MPEG Encoder Test all play TV with audio. I'm using a HP Pavilion m7100y Media Center which came with a Conexant 23880 Video Capture (Blackbird NTSC Dual-Input) and MCE update 2 and all current updates from HP & Microsoft are installed. If you do not get audio directly from the WinTV card, it would unfortunately indicate a faulty audio circuit on the WinTV, and therefore would require the board to be replaced.When I use capture video on MF4, all I get is the video, no audio in the preview or the recorded file. If you do- there would be a problem with the sound card configuration or a hardware problem with the LINE-IN. You should get audio (although low) this way. If all of this is done, and there is still no AUDIO from the WIN/TV card, try connecting your PC speakers(powered speakers only) or a set of headphones directly to the WIN/TV board.
